From September 19th-22th, Elementar welcomed 86 customers and potential customers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in the company’s new headquarters in Langenselbold. The users met for a two-day meeting dedicated to either elemental analysis or TOC determination in solids where they exchanged experiences, learned in interesting lectures in which application areas elemental analysis and TOC determination are used and collected valuable tips and tricks from our experts for the daily use of our analyzers.

The User Meeting “Elemental Analysis” focused on the topics food & feed analysis, fuel analysis, and elemental analysis in the fields of chemistry and pharmacy. Here the users presented their own work in short lectures, which were complemented by guest speakers Dr Roland Tiemens (Mettler-Toledo) and Holger Brecht (Fritsch), who gave a talk on weighing techniques and sample preparation of solid samples.

At the User Meeting “TOC Determination in Solids”, the new DIN 19539 on temperature-dependent differentiation of total carbon (TOC400, ROC, TIC900) was of central importance. The talk of Dr Volker Linnemann (RWTH Aachen University) gave substantial information on the new regulation and provided the basis for an exciting discussion among experts.

In comparison with the last User Meeting in 2015, the number of participants has doubled – this positive response shows that our customers appreciate the personal contact to each other, but also to our Application Specialists and Service Engineers. We would like to continue providing this networking platform and already look forward to the next Elementar User Meetings in 2019.
