Field Service Engineer

In order to further expand our business, we are now looking for a Field Service Engineer to work across our stable isotope and elemental analysis product lines. The successful candidate will initially be based at our Elementar UK site in South Manchester (UK) for a minimum of 12 months to receive comprehensive training on our products. Following the initial 12 month period, the role will become home based and work remotely. 

Your role and responsibilities:

  • You will perform installations, repairs, preventative maintenance and training across the Elementar product line: high temperature combustion analysis for non-metallic elements (C, H, N, O, S), TOC-water and N-protein analysis and IRMS (Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry)
  • You will work at customer laboratories across the globe
  • You will also be required to work at the Elementar UK factory for testing upgrades and repairs where necessary.
  • You report directly to the Operations and Quality Manager.

What is required for this role:

  • At least a degree in a scientific background or relevant experience
  • Experience in using and/or servicing scientific equipment
  • Good fault finding skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in dealing with customers in a lab environment
  • Good organisational skills and multiple task handling
  • Valid UK driving license
  • Ability to travel at short notice to customers in UK and overseas

The role will include a company car, a generous employer contributing pension scheme, and a company wide bonus scheme.
